How can I get admission to Chitkara University?

Established in 2010,  Chitkara University is a private university located in Rajpura, Punjab, India. It provides undergraduate programs, post-graduate programs, and doctoral programs in domains of engineering, management, pharmacy, health sciences, nursing, hospitality, art & design, and education. It is managed by the Chitkara Educational Trust. 

Candidates can easily download the Application Form from the University portal and send it Chitkara University Admissions Office along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 2100/- drawn in favour of Chitkara University, payable at Chandigarh. Candidates must submit the duly filled Application form along with the appropriate documents in the enclosed self-addressed envelope to reach on or before the last date of proposing the finished application form.

Chitkara University will not accept applications received after the last date. The seats in the different programs are allotted on merit- ranking of the student in the expected entrance test, subject to fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria for the program and the preferences indicated in the counseling form at the time of counseling (as per availability of seats).

Eligibility Criteria for Admission 

For Undergraduate Programs (like B.E., B.Tech, including CSE) 

• Successful completion of Class XII (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and a minimum 65% aggregate overall (CBSE, ISC, IB Diploma, State Boards, Cambridge).

• Minimum 65% in Mathematics and 65% in English in Class XII.

• Alternatively, candidates can qualify with:

• IELTS 6.5 bands, or

• TOEFL iBT score of 79.

• Mandatory Personal Interview (PI) with the Academic Team.

For Postgraduate Programs –

• A recognized graduation degree with a minimum eligibility percentage.

• Candidates applying for MBA, M.Tech, or other PG courses may need valid entrance exam scores (CAT/MAT/GPAT/GATE, etc., as applicable).

• Personal Interview remains compulsory.

• For B.Tech / CSE & other engineering courses: JEE Main (All India Rank) is accepted.Chitkara also gives an alternative: if you meet the 60% PCM aggregate in 12th and appear in JEE Main, you become eligible. 

• For B.Arch or design courses, NATA or UCEED, or equivalent, may also be considered (check course-specific criteria).

• For MBA / Management courses, accepted exams include CAT, MAT, XAT, NMAT, CMAT, etc.

• For PG Engineering (M.Tech), you may require GATE or an equivalent state PG entrance.

• Some programs also have their own Chitkara University entrance tests or interview rounds for shortlisting.

• For MBA/PGDM, the CAT 2025 exam will be held on Nov 30, 2025. Admit cards will be available from Nov 5, 2025.

• XAT 2026 registrations are open till Dec 5, 2025, and the exam date is January 4, 2026.

• NMAT 2025 registrations are open till Oct 10, 2025, and the exam dates: Nov 5 – Dec 19, 2025.
