The GMAT 2025 or Graduate Management Admission Test Focused Edition is an entrance test organized by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) for MBA or any graduate business courses offered by an institution. It is recognized by more than 7,700 programs at 2,400 B-schools, including IIMs, ISB, and XLRI in India. The GMAT Exam evaluates critical thinking, quantitative, verbal, and data analysis skills. The GMAT exam 2025 is offered as a computer-adaptive test (CAT) online and at test centers, providing students with added convenience. GMAT Eligibility Criteria

With regard to the GMAT Exam, there are only a few eligibility criteria to be considered:

  • Age: Minimum 18 years; candidates 13–17 years require parental consent (NOC) to sit for the exam.

  • Education: No minimum qualification; most B-schools require a bachelor’s degree for admission. It is not a requisite for the exam.

  • Attempts: Up to five attempts in 12 months with a 16-day interval between attempts. There is no lifetime limit.

Graduate Management Admission Test Registration Process

  • Proceed to register for the GMAT exam 2025 on mba.com:

  • Account creation with a name, email, and a password.

  • Select test mode (online: USD 300, ~INR 25,060; test center: USD 275, ~INR 22,975).

  • Select a test date and center (39 centers in 23 cities in India).

  • Payment through credit/debit card or UPI.

Exam Pattern and Scoring

The structure of the GMAT Exam is composed of three sections with 64 questions to be completed in 2 hours and 15 minutes as follows:

  • Quantitative Reasoning: 21 multiple choice questions (MCQ), 45 minutes (algebra and arithmetic). 

  • Verbal Reasoning: 23 MCQs, 45 minutes (reading comprehension, critical reasoning).

  • Data Insights: Multi-source reasoning and data sufficiency assessed through 20 questions within 45 minutes.  

Section SMART scoring: a range of 205 - 805, with each section scored 60 - 90. No more strategic answering due to no negative marking, but the exam is offered in an adaptive format. The Syllabus tab reflects in the GMAT Exam Syllabus.
