How to Get Admission in Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) in 2026

MGU (Kerala) runs its admissions via a Common Admission Test (CAT) for university-department postgraduate programs and via the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) for UG/PG courses in affiliated colleges. To apply to Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), students can apply online through the official website, depending on whether their program is merit-based or entrance-based.

Candidates applying for admission must follow the CUET Subject Mapping 2026 to select appropriate test subjects for their desired course. The CUET 2026 registration is expected to begin in March 2026, and exams will be conducted in May/June 2026. There is a difference between Mahatma Gandhi University (Kerala) and Mahatma Gandhi Central University (Motihari, Bihar).

Admission will be either through the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP), which should be for merit-based programs, or through the MGU Common Admission Test (MGU CAT) for entrance-based programs.

Is MG University under CUET?

For MGU's CAT 2025 admissions, online registration ended on June 2, 2025. For PG Programs, MGU kept applications open to expire June 2, 2025. Applications for UG/Other were trending to close by June.
