Seven out of the 10 top-ranked Indian institutions have experienced a decrease in their ranking this year compared to the last edition. Along with IITs Delhi, Bombay, and Kharagpur, this imparts the message that the top Indian institutes might be struggling.
This is also true for IIT Madras (went down from 277 last year to 305 this year), IIT Kanpur (310 this year vs 245 last year), and the Indian Institute of Science, which had a significant drop from rank 376 last year to 462 this year.
