The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct a re-examination for three subjects of the UGC NET June 2026 session due to factual errors and translation discrepancies in the original question papers.
The central government officially informed the Delhi High Court of this decision. The re-exam will specifically target candidates who appeared for English, Commerce, and Sociology.
The re-examination is scheduled for September 9 and 10, 2026. Candidates can check the subject-wise shift timings below:
September 9, 2026 (Shift 1): English (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM)
September 9, 2026 (Shift 2): Commerce (3:00 PM to 6:00 PM)
September 10, 2026 (Shift 1): Sociology (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM)
No Extra Fee: Impacted candidates do not need to pay any additional application fees to appear for the re-test [testbook.com.en2hi.search.translate.goog].
Admit Cards: NTA will release fresh city intimation slips and admit cards on its official website (ugcnet.nta.ac.in) shortly [newsonair.gov.in].
Other Subjects Unaffected: The provisional answer keys for the remaining 84 subjects have already been released [amarujala.com]. Their results will follow the standard evaluation process.
