CSIR UGC NET June 2026 Registration Open for JRF and PhD Admissions

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the Joint CSIR UGC NET June 2026 notification on May 27, 2026. Science stream graduates and postgraduates aiming for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, or PhD admissions can register online via the official portal, NTA CSIR NET Website

The national-level entrance exam is scheduled to be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode on July 17 and July 18, 2026.

CSIR UGC NET June 2026 Important Dates

Candidates must submit their applications before the closing deadline to avoid technical issues.

  • Notification Release Date: May 27, 2026

  • Online Application Window: May 27, 2026, to June 19, 2026 (until 11:50 PM)

  • Last Date for Online Fee Payment: June 20, 2026 (until 11:50 PM)

  • Application Correction Window: June 22 to June 23, 2026

  • CSIR NET June 2026 Exam Dates: July 17 and July 18, 2026

Eligibility Criteria & Upper Age Limits

Aspiring researchers and lecturers must meet the minimum academic and age qualifications set by the NTA:

Educational Qualification & Marks

  • Eligible Degrees: M.Sc., Integrated BS-MS, BS-4 Years, BE, B.Tech, B.Pharma, or MBBS.

  • General / OBC (NCL): Minimum 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree.

  • SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender: Minimum 50% aggregate marks.

  • Result Awaited (RA): Final-year students or those waiting for results can apply conditionally. 

  • Registration Fee 

    • General: INR 1150 

    • General-EWS / OBC-NCL: INR 600

    • SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender: INR 325

  • Age Limit 

  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Maximum 28 years (applicable age relaxations for SC/ST/PwD/OBC/Female candidates).

  • Lectureship / Assistant Professor / PhD.: No upper age limit.

Syllabus & Exam Pattern

The Joint CSIR UGC NET assessment takes place over 180 minutes (3 Hours) with zero breaks between sections. The test contains three distinct parts consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs):

  • Part A (General Aptitude): Quantitative reasoning, graphical analysis, and logical research concepts.

  • Part B (Core Subjects): Standard subject-related multiple-choice questions.

  • Part C (Analytical/Scientific Concepts): Higher-value analytical problems testing deeper scientific logic.
