Kakatiya University, founded in 1976, is a scholarly public educational institution located in Warangal, Telangana, that was granted an "A" grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) concerning higher education. Kakatiya University has adopted the University Grants Commission (UGC) for a "Choice Based Credit System (CBCS)" to provide a universal framework for learning in undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and professional programs. Many student cohorts inquire about Kakatiya University passing marks to understand what it would take to pass their examination(s).
Kakatiya University has in place a 10-point grading system (the Kakatiya University Grading System) in which a letter grade of "P" (Pass) is the minimum qualifying mark with a grade point (GP) of minimum of 4.0, as a minimum passing mark is defined as 40% aggregate marks overall for the course, combined in both practical and theory components (however, particular parameters may pertain to an entirely different department or other individual case). In accordance with the stipulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Kakatiya University employs a 10-point scale system of grading. Pushpavathi, B. S. (2013). Students are required to obtain a minimum grade of 'P' (corresponding to no fewer than 4.0 points) in order to receive a passing grade. The 'P' grade corresponds to 40 percent of marks. Internal assessments, which are either 30 or 40 percent of your grade, are combined with end-semester exams (60 or 70 percent) to determine the grade mark. In B.Tech programs, the minimum requirement is usually 40 percent in each theory or practical paper. To qualify for a degree, a final CGPA of at least 4.0 is required.
The Kakatiya University passing marks for UG programs (for example, BA, BCom, BSc, BTech) are 40% aggregate for each subject, and in some cases, internals are not considered separately. For reserved categories (SC/ST) students, there may be a reduction of around 5% (35%). For PG courses like MA, MSc, MCom, it's the same (40% minimum), but with a few departments requiring 50% when a student is eligible for honors or progression, e.g, MCom, MSc, MA, where appropriate.
In distance education (SDLCE), there is a minimum pass of 35-40% in assignments (20%) and theory exams (80% average). In case of professional courses, like MBA/MCA, you should have at least a 50% aggregate pass, even if packed, which aligns with the TSICET cut-off, but it is possible to have a 40% total for internals. If a student's performance does not meet the minimum standard, the student will receive a fail (F grade). The student must retake the course in subsequent years through supplementary exams, which you will have the opportunity to retake in July or December.
In order to pass a semester, you need to secure a minimum of 40 marks out of 100 in all areas of each paper (including theory + practical subject). To provide an example:
If it is a 3-credit course, you are looking for a minimum of 40% (12/30 original marks equivalent in grade points).
If you want to aggregate your grades in order to progress, you will still need 40% in all subjects.
If your marks are not far from pass standards, you can apply (within 20 days of results) for revaluation, and must submit application fees (ranging from ?500-1000) based on subjects, and revaluation only makes sense to use if you have borderline marks.
Depending on the case, you could apply for grace marks for a pass (up to 1%).
