Burdwan University offers admission openings across various undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil, PhD, Diploma, and Certificate programs in the Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, and Management streams. The admissions process is online-based and done over the official university portal.
The Burdwan University admission steps may vary slightly depending on the program; however, the admission process of Burdwan University is generally similar for most programs.
Step 1: Visit the Official Website
The first step is to visit the official Burdwan University website (www.buruniv.ac.in). Candidates should be sure to follow the admission notification that Burdwan University posts publicly for the course that they are interested in.
Step 2: Register
Visit the admission portal link and register with your name, mobile number, and email ID. After registering, you will receive your login credentials.
Step 3: Fill Application Form
Once you have logged in with your credentials, you can fill out the online application form. You will enter information such as personal information, educational qualifications, and your course of interest.
Step 4: Upload Documents
You will upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and educational certificates, as per the required format and size.
Step 5: Paying the Application Fee
Now, you just need to pay the application fee online, either by net banking, debit card, or credit card. The amount of the fee will differ depending on the course you have applied for.
Step 6: Selection Procedure
For most UG courses, admission will be based on merit from Class 12 marks.
For PG courses, admission will be based on either merit or entrance-based, depending on the department.
For PhD/MPhil courses, candidates will need to qualify for a university entrance test and then attend an interview.
Step 7: Publication of Merit List
The university will publish a merit list or an entrance exam on its official website. Candidates who are selected will be called for counseling or admission confirmation.
Step 8: Final Admission & Document Verification
Candidates who are selected will need to go to the university or other college for document verification and final payment of university course fees. The confirmation of admission is granted after successful verification by the court or university.
If you plan to apply for a course, always check the official university website for admission eligibility specific to your program. Before starting your application, have your scanned documents ready to upload before completing the process.
Once the link for submitting your application goes live, make sure that you complete the application before the deadline announced, because late applications will not be accepted.
Also, note that the admission dates may vary from program to program in the UG, PG, and PhD categories of courses, so refer to the official academic calendar that the university publishes on its website.
