The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has released a notification for its 2026 recruitment cycle for 1,924 job vacancies in 45 different job categories. The hiring categories are for the Staff Nurses, Drivers, Marshals, and Clerks.
The selected candidates will start their work under the Fixed Pay Sahayak system for 5 years. After completion of this work period, they will receive regular employment under the 7th CPC pay matrix. Aspire candidates can check the official Surat Municipal Corporation website for more details.

The selection is based on a Written Examination (OMR format), skill tests, and physical efficiency. The final stage involves comprehensive document verification.
Eligibility varies significantly depending on the specific post. The general age limit is 18 to 35 years. A 5-year age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST/SEBC), and a 5-10 year relaxation is for female candidates.
Staff Nurse: Requires a B.Sc. Nursing or GNM Diploma and valid registration with the Gujarat Nursing Council.
Driver: Candidates must have passed the 10th standard (SSC) and possess a valid heavy or light vehicle driving license.
Marshal (Watch and Ward): Requires a 10th or 12th-grade pass and fulfilment of specific physical standards (height, weight, and chest measurements).
Third Class Clerk: A Bachelor’s degree in any stream, along with a CCC computer proficiency certificate, is mandatory.
Medical Officer: Requires an MBBS degree from an MCI-recognised institute and Gujarat Medical Council registration.
The recruitment includes posts such as Clerk, Medical Officer, Staff Nurse, Engineers, Drivers, Technical Assistants, Pharmacists, Laboratory Technicians, and Marshals, along with several other technical and administrative positions.
