SMC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 for 1000 Apprentice Posts

The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) released the recruitment notification for 1000 apprentice posts for the year 2026. Eligible ITI, Diploma, and Graduate candidates can submit their applications online starting from 1st June 2026 until the final deadline on 10th June 2026 (by 11:00 PM) via the SMC Current Recruitment Page.

Overview of Vacancies and Salary Structure

This recruitment drive spans 14 different engineering and non-engineering trades under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Selected candidates will receive a structured monthly stipend based on their qualification levels: 

• Total Positions Available: 1,000 vacancies 

• Monthly Stipend: INR 9,600 to INR 12,300 

• Job Location: Surat, Gujarat

Eligibility Criteria 

• Educational Profile: Candidates must possess a valid ITI certificate, Diploma, or Graduation Degree from a government-recognised institute corresponding to the trade they choose.  

• Age Requirements: Applicants must be between 18 and 34 years old. 

• Prior Registration: Candidates must possess active registrations on the mandatory National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal.

Non-Exam Selection Process

• Zero Examination Fee: The recruitment body does not charge any application fee.

• Merit-Based Selection: Selection rests solely on merit lists generated from academic performance. Eligible applicants skip any written test or interview, proceeding directly to formal document verification
