Teachers who have cleared the post-graduate examination conducted by Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) in 2025 have requested the govt to notify addendum vacancies and recruit candidates for PG teacher posts in government schools all over the state.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, teachers informed that more than two months have already been passed since the govt appointed candidates who had passed 2025 exam in 1,996 PG posts. "Since this appointment which happened in January, the government should have notified addendum vacancies and began the recruitment of teachers in the next round but instead of doing this, government has appointed temporary teachers" says P Gnanambigai, a teacher.
More than 3,500 temporary teachers served the govt. And help schools across the state in 2024, stated the school education department. "There is possibility to fill the posts using PG teachers," the confederation mentioned.
The PG TRB exam is conducted for teaching subjects like physics, maths, chemistry and biology in the higher secondary government schools. It was conducted annually until 2010. The frequency of conducting the PG TRB exams went down to twice in a year by 2020, and then to every four years after 2021.
"Though we are in schools, only as a PG teacher, can we reach the level of Headmaster. Many of us take the examination when we are 30, 40, and 50. Time has come for our appointment," the confederation said.
