The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) invites applications for the Summer Internship Programme (SIP) 2026 for research and academic projects. This internship program is for graduate and postgraduate students of the computer science and engineering stream. Besides this, the Arts and management stream students are also eligible to apply. 

Students can apply through the  NITC SIP Portal.  There is no stipend provided for this Internship Programme (SIP).

NITC SIP 2026: Eligibility 

The following are the course-specific application criteria. Applicants must be a regular, full-time student from a recognised institution. NIT Calicut students are not eligible to apply for this internship program. 

Student Category 

Specific Eligibility Requirement

B.Tech / B.E.

2nd or 3rd year students (4th or 6th semester).

B.Arch

Finishing the 4th, 6th, or 8th semester.

B.Sc

Must have completed the 2nd year.

M.Tech / M.E.

Completing the 1st year (2nd semester).

M.Sc / MBA / MA / M.Plan

Completing the 1st year.

A minimum 6.5 CGPA or 65% aggregate is a mandatory requirement without any active back papers for all streams. 

NITC SIP 2026: Internship Details

The details are as follows:

  • The application deadline is March 23, 2026, until 2:00 PM.

  • The results for shortlisted candidates will be announced on April 6, 2026.

  • Internship Period is scheduled to run between May 4 and July 15, 2026.

  • Internship Fees are INR 3,540 for 30 days or INR 5,900 for 60 days.

  • Requirement documents are a resume, SOP, a bonafide certificate, mark sheets, an ID card, and an APAAR ID.
