The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) is one of India's top technical colleges. In 1961, it was first known as Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC). In 2002, it changed its name to the National Institute of Technology. 

The university is approved by AICTE and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for many of its programs. The 300-acre campus of the university is located in Kerala. 

NIT Calicut provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in engineering, science, management, and architecture. Its syllabus is designed to build strong technical knowledge, research ability, and practical skills.

NIT Calicut Courses 

NIT Calicut offers courses for bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. degrees. These programs are meant to provide students with technical skills and practical experience.

The college provides undergraduate programs like a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and also a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program in Architecture and Planning.

The university offers a master's degree in MBA, MCA, MTech and MPlan programs. These courses prepare students for jobs in research or other industries by going deeply into particular subject areas.

Some popular online courses are Port Development, Operations, and Management, Additive Manufacturing / 3D printing, Digital System Design with HDL, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Spreadsheets for Data Analytics. NIT Calicut works with places like NIELIT Calicut to offer distance learning courses. These courses cover Embedded Systems, VLSI, Power Electronics, and IT applications. They are designed to support people's skill development and professional growth. 

NIT Calicut Eligibility Criteria 

NIT Calicut provides bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs. The requirements for admission are set by the program.

Students must complete 10+2 in maths, physics, and chemistry in order to be eligible for bachelor's programs in technology. 

To be admitted, they must also have a high JEE Main score. To enrol in the bachelor's program in architecture, students must pass the NATA exam and earn a 10+2 in maths.

About master's degrees, like M.M. or Tech. Plan students have a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or planning. 

To get into the NIT Calicut MBA program, applicants must finish a bachelor's degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks. 

NIT Calicut Fees 

The NIT Calicut fee structure is designed to offer good education without being too expensive. The yearly cost for B.Tech and B.Arch programs is about INR 1.5 lakh to INR 2 lakh. This includes fees for teaching, the library, and labs.

For master's degrees such as M.Tech, M.Plan, and MSc fees are between INR 70,000 and INR 1 lakh each year.

Ph.D. programs don't cost much. Students mostly pay for signing up and exams. 

NIT Calicut Admission Process

Gaining admission to NIT Calicut involves a straightforward process based on meeting certain qualifications and passing required entrance exams. Have a look at the step-by-step NIT Calicut admission process -

NIT Calicut Exam 2025 

There is a set timetable for all program exams at NIT Calicut. The NIT Calicut Exam for end-of-semester evaluations is scheduled from mid-November to early December 2025

Registration and fee payment for the Monsoon Semester 2025-26 will begin around mid-July 2025 for B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Plan, MSc, and Ph.D. students.

And Classes will start shortly after registration and will remain open until early November 2025, with a short break planned mid-semester in November.

Students who need to retake exams can do so during the REX exam in early January.

Ph.D. candidates will take entrance exams and interviews in early June 2025 for the Monsoon Semester.

NIT Calicut Result 2025 

NIT Calicut has posted the results for all programs on its website. Students can see their scores for courses such as B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Plan, MSc, MBA, and Ph.D. The results come out after the end-of-semester exams.

The NIT Calicut Cut-off scores are also released for getting into different programs. These scores show the minimum needed on entrance exams like JEE Main, NATA, GATE, CAT, or CMAT to get accepted.

For students who want to retake exams, the REX results are posted separately. Checking the website often helps students keep up with results and cutoff scores.

NIT Calicut Placement 

The university has a good placement history as students get offers from top companies in India and abroad. The NIT Calicut placement period usually starts from August to May, and many students get jobs by the end of the first semester.

The NIT Calicut CSE Average Package is still one of the highest among all branches. It shows the demand for computer science graduates. The average package for 2025 was competitive, even though the highest package cost more than INR 40 LPA.
