The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has opened online applications for its prestigious Technical Internship Programme (Summer/July Session 2026).
The initiative offers 50 fully funded slots for tech-savvy graduates looking to work on large-scale national-level Digital India projects. Selected interns will receive a fixed stipend of INR 20,000 per month over a mandatory 6-month duration (July to December 2026).

NeGD is scouting for talent across multiple high-demand engineering verticals:
Software Engineering: Java, PHP, Python, Node.js, and .NET frameworks.
Emerging Tech: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
Data & Cloud: Data Engineering, DevOps, and Cloud Operations.
Design & Security: UI/UX Design, Frontend Development, and Cybersecurity.
To qualify for the technical internship scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Qualifications: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech / MCA or equivalent tech degrees.
Academic Cutoff: Minimum 75% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Passing Years: Graduates from 2024, 2025, or final-year students passing out in 2026.
For applicants from non-engineering backgrounds, NeGD is running a parallel Non-Technical Summer Internship Track featuring 10 slots for Programme Management, Content Writing, and Capacity Building. This track offers a ?15,000 monthly stipend, but candidates must act fast as applications close earlier on 7 June 2026.
Step-by-Step Selection & Application Process
Shortlisted profiles will be evaluated based on academic merit, with extra weightage awarded to students from top 100 NIRF-ranked colleges or those holding industry-recognised technical certifications. The final selection will follow a mandatory personal interview round.
