The University of Kashmir has postponed all exams scheduled for tomorrow, August 28, 2025, to a later date. According to officials, this is due to the poor weather in Jammu and Kashmir. The updated exam dates will be released later.
Authorities in Kashmir have advised people in flood-prone areas to avoid slopes and bodies of water due to bad weather.
Heavy rain has caused rivers to overflow and triggered mudslides, which has sadly led to 13 deaths. This number includes nine pilgrims on the Vaishno Devi route.
Also, due to the current situation, Kashmir University has postponed all exams scheduled for August 27.
Due to heavy rainfall on Tuesday, rivers and streams in Kashmir have risen. Officials are advising residents to avoid hill slopes and bodies of water as there is a higher chance of floods and landslides.
According to officials, the water level in Sheshnag Nallah, in Betaab Valley, has risen to 6.02 feet (1.83 meters). This beats the previous record of 5.68 feet (1.73 m).
Due to consistent rainfall, the stream's flood alarm level of 4.59 feet (1.4 m) and the danger mark of 5.09 feet (1.55 m) have both been exceeded.
