The National Testing Agency (NTA) has come out with a complete timetable and critical news regarding JEE Main 2026. The first session of the exam will take place from January 21 to 30, 2026, and the second session will be from April 2 to 9, 2026. Candidates can get more details on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) made available the window for correction from December 1 to December 2, 2025, and no more chances for corrections in Session 1 will be given.
Session 1 Correction Window Status: It was closed at 11:50 PM on December 2, 2025.
Session 2 Correction Window: The correction window of the April session will likely be opened in February 2026, following the end of the application period for the second session.
The application period for Session 1 has ended, and no further updates are required after December 2, 2025.

Online Application Form Submission: Oct 31 – Nov 27, 2025
Application Form Correction: Dec 1 – 2, 2025
Announcement of Exam City: First week of January 2026
Admit Card Release: 3–4 days before exam date
Exam Dates: January 21 – 30, 2026
Result Declaration: By February 12, 2026
Session 2 (April 2026)
Online Application Form Submission: Last week of Jan 2026 onwards
Application Form Correction: Last week of Feb 2026 (Tentative)
Announcement of Exam City: Second week of March 2026 (Tentative)

No Calculator Allowed: No calculators in any form will be allowed, physical or virtual; people have to do the calculations manually.
Compulsory Class 11 Registration Number: Candidates are required to provide their Class 11 registration number for the purpose of academic verification and to avoid exam–board exam clashes.
New Application Form Sections: New entries have been added for capturing live photo, APAAR ID, and disability.
More Exam Centres: The number of exam cities increased to 323, thus making it easier for students in remote areas to sit for the exam.
Updated Document Guidelines: Enlarged and changed format rules for photos, signatures, and certificates.
CBT Accessibility Features: Dark/light mode, and font size changes as well as cursor trail options, have been included to make the test easier to use.
Educational Qualification: Must be a holder of the Class 12 (or its equivalent) certificate in 2024 or 2025, or be a candidate in 2026.
Age Limit: No upper age limit is imposed for appearing in JEE Main.
Minimum Marks for Admission: JEE Main does not mandate any minimum marks to be eligible to take the exam.
To get admission in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs:
General/OBC students should score 75% in Class 12 or should be in the top 20% of their respective boards.
The SC/ST category is 65% in Class 12.
Attempts: A candidate can appear for JEE Main up to three consecutive times, in the academic years of Class 12 or after.
