JAC Releases Jharkhand TET 2026 Notification; Registration Begins

The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) released the notification for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) 2026 on March 28, 2026. This announcement is for the recruitment cycle for thousands of teaching aspirants across the state. The official website to apply to is jac.jharkhand.gov.in. 

The JTET 2026 is a mandatory qualification for candidates seeking teaching positions in government schools for Classes 1 to 5 (Primary) and Classes 6 to 8 (Upper Primary).

JAC Releases Jharkhand TET 2026: Important Dates

According to the official release, the online application window will be active for exactly one month:

• Registration Start Date: April 21, 2026

• Registration Deadline: May 21, 2026

• Exam Date: To be announced (Expected July/August 2026)

Fee Structure and Eligibility

The JAC has clarified the fee structure for different categories. General, BC-I, BC-II, and EWS candidates will pay INR 1,300 for a single paper or INR 1,500 for both. SC, ST, and PwD candidates receive a reduced rate of INR 700 for one paper or INR 800 for both.

Eligibility Highlights:

• Paper 1 (Class 1-5): Requires Senior Secondary with 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a Graduation degree with B.Ed.

• Paper 2 (Class 6-8): Requires Graduation with a 2-year Diploma or a B.Ed. degree with at least 50% marks.

• Age Limit: Notably, there is no upper age limit for this session, allowing veteran educators to apply.

Examination Format

The exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper (OMR) format. Each paper consists of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be completed within 150 minutes. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers as per the council confirmation.
