IIT Hyderabad Opens Applications for SURE Internship 2026: Eligibility, Duration & Fellowship

The programme has 250 internship seats in total, out of which 100 are for women candidates only. It is an exclusive internship for students belonging to any institution other than IIT Hyderabad.

The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT, H) has invited applications for its Summer Undergraduate Research Exposure (SURE) Internship 2026, offering undergraduate and postgraduate students from across the country a wonderful opportunity to conduct research at technical institutions. The online application deadline is March 10, 2026.

The programme offers 250 internship seats in total, 100 of which are reserved for women candidates only. This internship is only for students excluding those of IIT Hyderabad.

Applications must be done through the dedicated application portal at iith.ac.in. Applications submitted offline or by email will not be considered.

The application window opened on 28 February 2026 and will close on 10 March 2026. Results are expected to be announced tentatively by 15 April 2026, and the programme will start on 15 May 2026.

Chosen interns will be granted a fellowship of Rs 15, 000 covering the entire two-month period of the programme. Those who decide on shorter terms of engagement will be given Rs 7, 500 per month or Rs 10, 000 for one and a half months.

It is planned that the internship will be held from May 15 to July 14, 2026, with a minimum duration of 1 month and a maximum of 2 months. Part-time or online internships will not be allowed. Selected interns will be provided with hostel accommodation in the student hostels of IIT Hyderabad; however, they will have to pay the mess charges themselves.
