IIT Hyderabad has opened the application window for its SURE (Summer Undergraduate Research Exposure) Internship 2026 program since February 28, 2026. The last form submission date is March 10, 2026. The results will be declared on 15 April 2026, tentatively.
The research program is for 250 seats, where 100 seats are reserved for women only. Candidates can apply through the official IIT Hyderabad portal.
SURE internship comes with a stipend of INR 15,000 if candidates complete it in the full 2 months. The program is on campus with hostel facilities without mess charges. To increase female research participation, 100 seats are reserved.
IIT Hyderabad SURE program is open for non-IIT Hyderabad students who fulfil these requirements. The regular students from these streams can apply for the internship program-
B.Tech / B.Des / B.Arch / B.A: Currently in their 2nd or 3rd year (all branches).
M.Sc: Currently in their 1st year (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology).
M.A: Currently in their 1st year.
Integrated B.Tech–M.Tech: Currently in their 3rd or 4th year.
Students who are applying for the internship program must be ranked within the top 20% of their class based on CGPA or percentage marks across all previous years. This rank must be certified by the Head of Institution or Principal.
Internships are available across all major academic divisions at IIT Hyderabad:
Engineering: All branches, including AI, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, and Mechanical & Aerospace.
Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
All branches of B.Des and select MA/Social Science disciplines.
Interdisciplinary areas like Climate Change, Heritage Science, and Sustainability are also eligible.
