The Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2025 exam is scheduled for today, with the National Testing Agency (NTA) overseeing the event in two shifts. The chemical sciences, mathematical sciences, and physical sciences exams will be administered in the afternoon, from 3 to 6 p.m. Candidates must bring their CSIR UGC NET 2025 admit card to gain entry to the exam location.
The joint CSIR UGC NET exam will take place in two shifts: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The exam centre will be open at 7 a.m. for the morning session and 1 p.m. for the afternoon session, according to the entry schedule.
Today, those who applied for life sciences and earth, atmospheric, ocean, and planetary sciences will take the exam in the first shift. In the afternoon, test-takers in chemical sciences, mathematical sciences, and physical sciences will take their papers.

CSIR UGC NET awardees will get a stipend of Rs 37,000 monthly for the first two years. Also, a yearly contingency grant of Rs 20,000 is given to the fellow. Students who enrol for a PhD program will have their fellowship upgraded from JRF to SRF (NET) after two years, with the stipend rising to Rs 42,000 for the third year.
The CSIR UGC NET exam assesses if candidates are qualified for JRF, assistant professor positions, and PhD programs in science and related research fields.
