The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has opened its legal internship program for the current year, 2026. The month-long residency program provides law students with a vital professional development opportunity across India. It focuses on cultivating expertise in competition law and policy.
The programme is open to Indian nationals currently pursuing legal studies. Eligible candidates include:
5-Year Integrated LL.B. students who have completed their third year of study.
3 -Year LL.B. students who are currently in their second or final year.
LL.M. students from any recognised university.
Selection is highly competitive, with the Commission typically inducting 15 interns per month based on academic merit and a required 200-word Statement of Purpose (SOP).

Interns will receive a monthly stipend of INR 15,000 upon successful completion of the programme and submission of a research paper.
Candidates must submit their applications by the 1st of the month preceding their intended internship start date. Key requirements include:
A formal recommendation from the Head of Department or Principal of the applicant's institution.
A clear Statement of Purpose detailing the chosen research topic within competition law.
Submission via the official CCI portal or by post to the CCI headquarters at Kidwai Nagar East, New Delhi.
