The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced the timeline for the UPSC CSE 2027. Aspiring civil servants can officially begin their application journey early next year, marking the start of one of the country's most competitive recruitment drives.
According to the official UPSC calendar, the formal notification will be released, and registration will open on January 13, 2027. Eligible candidates will face a compressed timeline to submit their applications, with the registration window closing on February 2, 2027.
The crucial UPSC Prelims 2027 exam date is set for May 23, 2027, giving candidates roughly five months from the notification date to wrap up their initial phase of preparation. Successful candidates from the preliminary stage will advance to the UPSC Mains examination, which is scheduled to commence on August 20, 2027, stretching across five days.
UPSC has modernised its registration framework on the official website, upsc.gov.in. The previous multi-part registration format has been replaced by a more cohesive ecosystem. Applicants must first set up a profile to generate a Universal Registration Number (URN) and fill out the Common Application Form (CAF) before accessing the specific CSE 2027 examination module.

General / OBC / EWS (Male Candidates): INR 100 for Prelims | INR 200 for Mains
Female / SC / ST / PwBD (All Candidates): Exempted from payment
