AFCAT 1 2026: Indian Air Force opens registrations at afcat.edcil.co.in; applications accepted till Dec 14

AFCAT 1 Registration 2026: Eligible candidates can complete their registration at afcat.edcil.co.in before December 14.. The AFCAT 1 exam is set for January 31, 2026, and candidates can access their admit cards from January 22 via the official website.

The IAF has opened the AFCAT 1 2026 application window on the portal afcat.edcil.co from November 17, 2025. Candidates are expected to fill out the application before December 14.  

Through this cycle, officers will be chosen for the January 2027 intake. For further updates on AFCAT, check education.indianexpress.com.

AFCAT One 2026: Eligibility Criteria

Required Documents:
Class 10 & 12 mark sheets, valid email ID, mobile number, and Aadhaar details.
Citizenship: Indian nationals only.

Age Limit

• Flying Branch: 20–24 years

• Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical): 20–26 years

Educational Qualification

Ground Duty (Non-Technical):

• Should have passed class 12 from Physics and Mathematics with a Minimum of 60% marks.

• Minimum 4-year graduation or integrated post-graduation degree in Engineering/Technology from a UGC approved university

For Flying Branch

• 60 % marks in graduation from any stream, and must be a student of physics and mathematics in 12th. 

• BE/B.Tech. degree with a minimum of 60% from a UGC approved university.

For Technical Branch

• Candidates must have graduated from  Engineering or Technology.

• Alternatively, clearing AMIE or the Aeronautical Society of India (Sections A & B) with 60% also makes you eligible.

AFCAT 1 2026: Application Fee 

A ?550 application fee (plus GST) applies, with candidates allowed to select up to five exam locations from 104 options.

AFCAT One 2026: Steps to Apply

• Go to afcat.cdac.in.

• Select the “AFCAT 1 2026” link visible on the homepage and click.

• Follow the steps to create a login ID.

• Fill in the application details with all mandatory details.

• Upload the required document with a photograph and digital signature.
