Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) is one of India’s largest state technical universities. It was established in 2000 and formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU). It is a private university and was renamed in 2015 in honour of the late Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
