Accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A+' grade, Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) is a public university located in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh - India, which was established in 1976 and offers a broad spectrum of undergraduate, postgraduate, doctorate and distance learning programs in numerous humanities, science, commerce, engineering, law and management subjects.
ANU offers an admissions process that is online (in part) as well as merit and entrance exam based for the regular and distance learning students who may apply through the Centre for Distance Education (CDE), for the academic year 2025-26 with the application process presently underway as of this September 2025 a detailed account of how to get admission into Acharya Nagarjuna University with advice regarding eligibility, the application requirements and timelines to aid prospective students is provided in this article.
Program eligibility varies by program and mode of study:
UG Programs (BA, BCom, BSc, BTech, BPharma): Pass Class 12 from a recognized board with an aggregate percentage ranging from 35%-50%, apart from candidates belonging to reserved categories for whom the percentage is 45%. B.Tech. and BPharma programs require AP EAMCET, and PG Science streams necessitate subjects like Physics and Chemistry.
PG Programs (MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, MCA): A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/BC candidates). ICET or ANUCDE Entrance test, or candidates with 50% marks in a degree with a Mathematics background, will be eligible for MBA/MCA. All others will be based on AP PGCET.
Distance Education (via CDE): Undergraduate degrees (through CDE) require a pass 10+2, and postgraduate degrees require graduation. No entrance test for most of the degrees, except for MBA/MCA with a valid ICET score or ANUCDE entrance test (hybrids in degree and test). BLISc or MLISc will require a degree for eligibility.
PhD: Requires a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks and UGC-NET or ANU entrance to the PhD program.
Relaxation for reserved candidates in all areas of eligibility. International candidates require equivalency certificates for eligibility.
The process is slightly different for regular and distance modes, but starts online:
Visit Official Portal:www.nagarjunauniversity.ac.in, distance admission: anucde.info (for regular admissions, click "Apply Now" under Admissions).
Register and Fill Form: Register online by creating an account using your email/mobile, fill in the personal/academic details, and submit the program you want to apply for, along with the document uploads (photo, signature, marksheets, etc).
Pay Application Fee: Pay online by online/net banking or by Demand Draft (DD) payable to SBI at Nagarjuna University. The application fee is ?500 to ?1000, depending on course selection (SC/ST candidates only pay ?500). Take note of the reference number.
Submit and Download: Review it, submit it, and print the application acknowledgment. (For distance admission, the applicant must send by registered post a hard copy of the application with attested documents, candidate photo, etc, to CDE, A.N.U., Guntur).
Entrance/Merit Evaluation: Complete all Entrance examinations required, such as ANUEET for (B.Tech), AP PGCET (PG), ICET (MBA), etc. (The merit lists will come out after the exams for counseling).
Counseling and Verification: If selected for merit counseling in online/ offline, visit the relevant verification area, get your originals verified, and pay fees (?5000 -?80000 per year, depending on course selection).
(For distance learning, the verification process happens after submission of documents, and there is no counseling process for merit-based learning).
10th/12th marksheets and certificates (DOB proof).
Graduation marksheets/degree (for PG).
Entrance scorecard (if applicable).
Caste/EWS certificate, Aadhaar/ID proof, migration/TC.
3 passport photos; marriage certificate (if name change).
Work experience (for executive programs).
All must be self-attested; originals for verification.
Distance Applications: Started September 16; last date September 30-October 10, 2025.
MBA/MCA Entrance: September 21, 2025.
Regular UG/PG: AP EAMCET/PGCET applications closed earlier; counseling October-November 2025.
PhD: Applications till September 2025.
