About Narsee Monjee Institute of Management and Higher Studies(NMIMS)
What started with small steps in 1981, today NMIMS has grown into a world-renowned university. Ever socially conscious, the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) made the decision to meet the growing demand from the country's management institutes. This led to the birth of the Narsee Monjee Institute for Management Studies (NMIMS). It started humbly offering a two-year full-time Master of Management Studies program with 4 full-time faculty, 3162 books and an intake of 40 students above Bhaidas Hall, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai.
EVOLUTION AND GROWTH
Since they are temporarily located at the Bhaidas auditorium, the NMIMS has developed a large complex of more than 5,50,000 sq feet.
Building on this inspiring legacy, NMIMS today prides itself on being a renowned university offering multiple disciplines across campuses. What began as an institute in a small building has caught the world's attention, thanks to its 17 specialized schools. Humboldt International Scholarship for post-doctoral researchers, 10 faculty members with Fulbright Scholarship are part of India's most in-demand academic community. The consistent academic quality, research focus, faculty from leading national and global institutes, and strong ties to industry at NMIMS have placed it among the leading centers of education and research excellence in the country today.
