The final entry window for the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme (IYPS) 2026 officially closed on July 23, 2026, at 1:30 PM IST (9:00 AM UK time). According to updated guidelines from the UK Home Office, all ballots for the 2026 cycle are now concluded, and no further application rounds will be held this year.
The highly competitive, 48-hour registration window was the second and final opportunity for young Indian graduates to secure a portion of the 3,000 allocated visas for 2026. The scheme permits successful applicants to live, travel, work, or study in the United Kingdom for up to 24 months without requiring a corporate sponsor or an explicit UK job offer.
Random Lottery Pool: Because the number of applicants vastly exceeds the available slots, British immigration authorities select entries entirely at random.
Results Notification: Registrants who submitted their free online forms before the July 23 deadline will receive their results via email within two weeks (by early August 2026).
Finality: The results of the random draw are final, and unsuccessful applicants hold no right to appeal. They may, however, re-enter future ballots when the 2027 cycle opens.
Entering the ballot is free, but being selected does not automatically guarantee a visa; it acts strictly as an invitation to apply. Winners face a strict 90-day countdown from the date they receive their invitation email to submit their visa applications online formally.
During this 90-day window, selected candidates must complete the following steps to finalise their immigration status:
1. Pay Mandatory Government Processing Fees
Visa Application Fee: £340 (approx. INR 37,000 to INR 44,000 depending on exchange rates).
Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS): £1,552.
Total Government Cost: £1,892 upfront.
Candidates must upload digital proof ensuring they fulfil all conditions:
Age & Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen aged 18 to 30.
Education: Must hold an eligible qualification equivalent to a UK bachelor's degree or higher.
Financial Maintenance: Must prove a personal savings threshold of at least £2,530 (approx. INR 2.8 lakh) held continuously in a personal bank account for 28 consecutive days.
Dependents: Cannot have children under 18 living with them or financially dependent on them.
Applicants will need to book an identity appointment at a local VFS Global Visa Application Centre (VAC) to submit fingerprints and photographs, along with mandatory tuberculosis (TB) test certificates and an Indian Police Clearance Certificate (PCC). Once biometrics are processed, standard visa decisions take roughly 3 weeks.
