UGC NET December 2025 Begins Today: Guidelines Updates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a lot of strict rules concerning banned items for the UGC NET December 2025 exam, which starts today, December 31, 2025. Candidates must follow these rules to not be disqualified.

Prohibited Items in the Exam Hall:

The admission of the following items is strictly forbidden in the exam hall.

  • Jewellery & Ornaments: Wedding rings, earrings, bangles, necklaces, anklets, etc.

  • Bags & Storage Items: Handbags, backpacks, purses, wallets, and pouches

  • Electronic Devices: Mobile phones, wrist watches, smart devices, calculators, and earphones

  • Stationery: Books, notes, geometry boxes, and printed or written material

  • Other Accessories: Belts with metal buckles, badges, brooches, and caps

Dress Code and Footwear 

  • Clothing: Choose light, half-sleeved garments that are free from heavy embroidery, large buttons, or multiple pockets.

  • Footwear: Not allowed are shoes with thick soles or any other cumbersome styles. Plain sandals or slippers that are plain are suggested.

  • Mehndi: It is recommended that the candidates not apply mehndi on their hands since it could disrupt the biometric attendance tracking.

Compulsory Items To Take Along

  • Admit Card: Printed from the NTA official website on A4-sized paper.

  • An Identification: An original photo ID with a government-issued issued, such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Passport.

  • Photos: One recent passport-size photo (same as that used in the application process) for the attendance sheet.

  • Stationery: Only one simple, transparent ballpoint pen.

  • Water Bottle: The Water bottle must be transparent.

  • Reporting Time: Candidates must be at the venue at least 90 minutes before the start of the exam. Closing times for the gates are absolutely 8:30 AM for Shift I and 2:30 PM for Shift II.

Reporting Time: All candidates need to come to the exam center not later than 90 minutes before the start of their exam, and the entrance will be shut at 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM for Shift I and II, respectively.
