The Government of India and different state governments have made available the registration for scholarships for SC, ST, and OBC students for the academic year 2025-26. Depending on the particular scheme, the financial support offered to eligible students in 10th and 12th grades can vary from INR 12,000 to more than INR 48,000 annually.
Post-Matric Scholarship (SC/ST/OBC): This scheme grants financial support covering the cost of tuition and providing a monthly upkeep allowance for those students who have completed the 10th grade.
PM-YASASVI Scheme: This scholarship is the highest for OBC, EBC, and DNT students. Under this, students from the 11-12 grades can get up to INR 1,25,000 per year, which will cover their school fees and hostel charges.
State-Specific Incentives: Many states, such as Bihar, UP, and MP, offer extra financial support of INR 15,000 to INR 25,000 to brilliant students who have done very well in class 12.
Category: The applicant should be a member of the SC, ST, or OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category.
Income Limit: The annual income of the entire family should normally not be more than INR 2.5 Lakhs. However, this limit may differ a little depending on the state/scheme.
Bank Account: Having a bank account linked to Aadhaar is necessary for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Academic Performance: A score of 50-60% is usually required in the last final examination.
National Scholarship Portal (NSP): Main platform for most central government scholarships; One-Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory.
Ministry of Tribal Affairs (NSP–ST): Dedicated portal for ST students pursuing post-matric and higher education scholarships.
PM-YASASVI via NSP: Scholarship scheme for OBC, EBC, and DNT students, managed through the NSP portal.
Uttar Pradesh: UP Scholarship Portal.
Bihar: Bihar Post-Matric Scholarship Portal.
Jharkhand: e-Kalyan Portal.
Maharashtra: MahaDBT Portal.

Official Portal: Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) to start your application.
OTR Registration: Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) to generate your unique ID.
Fill Application: Log in and choose the relevant scholarship scheme for 2025–26.
Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of all required certificates.
Submit & Verify: Submit the form and ensure your institution verifies it on the portal.
Note: Most 2025–26 scholarship deadlines are active and many close around December 31, 2025, so apply early.
Central Schemes (NSP): Most 2025–26 applications close on December 15 or December 31, 2025.
State Schemes: Deadlines differ by state, ranging from November 15 to mid-2025.
OTR Registration: Complete the mandatory NSP OTR to get a permanent ID for 2025–26.
Aadhaar Seeding: Link Aadhaar with your bank account for DBT.
Document Validity: Use income and caste certificates issued after April 1, 2025.
