The National Testing Agency (NTA) is anticipated to release the official information brochure for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027 in October 2026. Engineering aspirants aiming for admissions to premium institutes like NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs can track updates directly on the official portal atjeemain.nta.nic.in.
The national-level entrance exam will be conducted across two dedicated windows in a computer-based test (CBT) format. The tentative registration and examination timelines are detailed below:

Academic Criteria: Students appearing for their Class 12 board exams in 2027, or those who cleared them in 2025 and 2026, are eligible to apply.
The 75% Rule: No minimum board percentage is enforced to sit for the test. However, securing at least 75% marks in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST categories) remains mandatory for final JoSAA institute locking.
Paper Pattern: Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) is expected to maintain its structured format containing 75 compulsory questions across physics, chemistry, and mathematics, totalling 300 marks.
