The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has announced the schedule for Class 10 and Class 12 theory examinations which will take place in April 2026. The official notification states that examination activities will start on April 10 2026 at designated testing locations throughout India.
The institute has posted the complete timetable on its official website. Students taking the Secondary (Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) tests can find their subject-specific exam schedules on the online platform.

Access the section titled “Examination” or “Latest Notifications”
Select the link that states “NIOS Class 10, 12 Date Sheet April 2026”
The date sheet will open in PDF format
Users must download the document to keep it for later reference
The practical exams are currently in progress for students in Class 10 and Class 12. The practical exams started on March 17 and will last until April 1 2026.
The theory exams will commence on April 10, according to the complete examination timetable published yesterday, March 25 2026. Most exams will take place during afternoon sessions which typically run between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM based on the specific subject matter.
The examination period will extend until May 6 2026. The schedule includes a wide range of subjects for both Class 10 and Class 12 students.
