The Karnataka State Police (KSP) has released the recruitment notification for 1,600 Armed Police Constable (CAR/DAR) vacancies for the year 2026. Eligible and interested candidates can start submitting their online applications today, June 22, 2026.

According to the official schedule, the online application window will remain open until July 22, 2026. The state recruitment board has also confirmed that the highly anticipated written examination is scheduled to take place on September 6, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon across designated centres in Karnataka.

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

  • Language Requirement: Proficiency in the Kannada language is mandatory. Candidates should have studied Kannada up to Class 10 (SSLC) or must pass the state's language test.

Three-Stage Selection Process

Securing the CAR/DAR constable post requires clearing a multi-tier screening process:

  1. Written Examination: A competitive 100-mark OMR-based test.

  2. Physical Standards Test (PST) & Endurance Test (PET): Qualifying rounds measuring height, chest expansion, and physical performance tasks.

  3. Medical Examination: Final clearance from authorized medical boards to verify physical and psychological fitness.
