How to Calculate Your Percentile Score

The NTA uses a normalisation technique to make the scoring fair among many shifts with differing levels of difficulty. The percentile score is not simply the percentage marks you got. It is a relative score.

'NTA JEE Main Percentile' refers to the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or below a certain score on the exam. Calculating the percentile is called the JEE Main normalisation process.

To calculate the JEE Main percentile, the authority converts the raw scores of the candidates into a percentage score (out of 100). This ensures that all candidates attempting the JEE Main exam have an equal score despite the varied difficulties of the multi-session papers.
