IREL (India) Limited, a Mini-Ratna Category-I Central Public Sector Undertaking, released the recruitment notification for its OSCOM (Orissa Sands Complex) unit for the 2026-27 batch. The company is inviting applications for 37 Apprentice positions across various engineering, technical, and trade disciplines.
Eligible candidates interested in gaining hands-on industrial experience at the Matikhalo unit must submit their applications by 15th May 2026 through irel.co.in.
The recruitment drive aims to fill 37 seats under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The distribution includes:
Graduate Apprentices: Open to B.E./B.Tech holders (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil).
Technician Apprentices: For Diploma holders in relevant engineering fields.
Trade Apprentices (ITI): Specific vacancies for Fitter (7), Electrician (6), Plumber (2), and Painter (2).
Trade Apprentices (Non-ITI): Targeted at B.Sc, M.Sc, or MBA/CA/ICWA graduates for specialised roles.
Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age as of the closing date (May 15, 2026). As per government norms, age relaxation is provided for reserved categories: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), and 10 years for PwD candidates.
Selection Process
Selection will be strictly merit-based, calculated from the marks obtained in the qualifying degree, diploma, or ITI course. Preference will be given to local candidates from the Ganjam district and wards of IREL employees. Shortlisted applicants will undergo document verification and a medical fitness test.
