The India Post GDS 2026 merit list is expected to be released today, February 28, 2026, to fill the 28,636 vacancies for Gramin Dak Sevak positions. Once the results are published on the official website, registered candidates for the recruitment drive will be able to view their status. The recruitment drive attracted many applicants from across India due to its basic eligibility requirement that candidates have completed at least Class 10.
Candidates can access the merit list by visiting India Post's official website at https://indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement. Once on the homepage, go to the “Candidate Corner” section and click on "List of Shortlisted Candidates" to access the link for the state- or circle-specific merit list. The merit list can be accessed in PDF format. Candidates should save the pdf file for future reference. Only one registration per candidate will be accepted for selection.
The India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 expected cut-off marks provide the candidates with the information on the range of marks or percentage they need to qualify and get their names shortlisted in the merit list. Cut off will be different for each state, category, number of vacancies and number of candidates.
Category-wise expected cut-off range is given below:
|
Category |
Expected Cut-Off |
|
Unreserved (General) |
85% – 95% |
|
Other Backward Classes (OBC) |
80% – 90% |
|
Scheduled Caste (SC) |

|
Economically Weaker Section (EWS) |

Division, Office, Post Name, Post community, registration number, obtained marks in percentage and the area of division where candidates need to be present for the document verification will be available in the merit list.
Candidates need to complete the document verification within 15 days of the declaration of the results. Required documents, along with the 10th marksheet, would include identity proof, caste certificate (if required), domicile certificate and so on.
Then a medical examination will take place, and an appointment letter will be issued.
