IIT Madras inaugurated a new online Bachelor of Science (BS) in Aeronautics and Space Technology on February 9, 2026.
The online program targets India's aviation and space sectors to bridge the skill gaps by teaching UAV technology, satellite production, and civil aviation operations. The program delivers its content through online recorded lectures and live tutorials. For lab sessions, students need to join the IIT Madras on-campus training.
This bachelor's degree duration is 4 to 8 years, and admission is open through a Qualifier Process with coursework and an exam. JEE Advanced 2025 or 2026 qualifiers can directly enter the foundation level. No JEE score is needed.
Students of Class 12 with Physics and Math or equivalent diploma holders are eligible to register for the course. There is no age limit for applicants.
