IIT Kharagpur has started its online application process for its law and public policy programs for the current academic session 2026. The programs aim to provide students with the necessary skills to connect their technical knowledge with legal and policy frameworks.
Eligible candidates can apply through the official website of IIT Kharagpur LLB/LLM portal or the MPPLG application link.
LLB (Hons) in Intellectual Property Law: A 3-year full-time course for science, engineering, or medical graduates entering law.
LLM: A 2-year postgraduate program with specialisations in Intellectual Property, International Law, and Criminal Law.
MPPLG: A 2-year master’s program focused on public policy, law, and governance.
The admission timeline defines essential timeframes that candidates must follow for their complete admission process through application, exam preparation, and entrance testing.
Application Period: December 15, 2025 – February 20, 2026
Admit Card Release: Tentatively on March 18, 2026
Entrance Exam: March 29, 2026
The admission process is exam-based, with a CBT followed by additional selection stages for select programs. The exams will be conducted across major Indian cities.
Admission Process: CBT on Mathematics, Science, English, and Logical Reasoning; MPPLG also includes GD and PI
