IIT JAM 2027 Registration Deadline Extended Till October 19; Apply Online via JOAPS Portal

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur has officially extended the registration deadline for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM 2027). Aspiring postgraduate science students who missed the previous cutoff now have until October 19, 2026, to complete their applications online. 

Eligible candidates can submit their forms directly via the JOAPS portal on the official website at jam.iitkgp.ac.in.

Key Highlights

Organised by IIT Kharagpur, this national-level entrance test is a single-window gateway for over 3,000 seats across 89 postgraduate programmes (such as M.Sc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., and M.Sc.-M.Tech.). The scores are accepted by all 23 IITs alongside other premier centrally funded technical institutes.

The exam will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) in 114 cities across India. Candidates can appear for either one or two test papers from the seven available subjects: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, and Physics.

1. Visit the official JOAPS portal at jam.iitkgp.ac.in.

2. Register to generate your enrollment ID and password.

3. Fill out the application form with your personal and educational details.

4. Upload your scanned photograph, signature, and category certificates.

5. Pay the application fee online and download the confirmation page.
