The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the registration deadline for the July 2026 admission session. Students can now apply for fresh admission and re-registration until September 15, 2026.
The extended deadline covers various undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), diploma, and other eligible programmes offered through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online modes. However, the extension does not apply to certificate programmes.
Students applying for fresh admission or re-registration should keep the following points in mind:
APAAR/ABC ID is mandatory: Applicants must generate and provide their Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) / APAAR ID during the registration process. Applications without the required ID may not be processed.
?200 late fee for re-registration: Existing IGNOU students who missed the earlier re-registration deadline can still apply by paying a ?200 late fee.
Check application status regularly: IGNOU is verifying the documents submitted by applicants. Students should regularly check their admission portal for updates.
Correction facility: If the university finds any discrepancy in the submitted information or documents, an edit link may appear on the student dashboard so that the candidate can make the required corrections.
Eligible students can complete their registration through the ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
Fill in the required details and upload the necessary documents.
Provide your ABC/APAAR ID.
Pay the applicable admission or re-registration fee.
Submit the application and regularly check the admission portal for updates.
After the submitted documents and fee payment are verified and approved, IGNOU will provide the Enrolment Number and admission confirmation through the registered email address and mobile number.
