The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the registration deadline for the July 2026 session. Aspiring candidates and existing students who missed the previous cutoff now have until September 30, 2026, to complete their online applications.
The extension applies to a vast range of undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), diploma, and PG diploma courses offered across both Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online modes.
However, the university clarified that this deadline extension excludes certificate and semester-based programmes. Students can access the application forms directly through the official IGNOU Admission Portal.
Mandatory APAAR ID: In alignment with national education guidelines, applicants must generate and have their APAAR ID ready before initiating the registration process.
Fresh Admission Fee: Eligible applicants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of ?300 during submission.
Re-Registration Late Fee: Existing students enrolling in their next semester or academic year must submit their forms along with a late fee of INR 200.
Visit the Portal: Navigate to the official IGNOU Samarth Portal for ODL courses or the IGNOU IOP Portal for fully online programmes.
New Registration: Click on the "NEW REGISTRATION" tab on the homepage.
Verify via OTP: Provide a valid email address and mobile number to receive a verification One-Time Password (OTP).
Fill Application Form: Log in with your new user credentials to fill out personal details, select academic programmes, and input your APAAR ID.
Upload & Pay: Upload scanned copies of required documents (photograph, signature, and educational certificates) and complete the registration fee payment via net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI.
