ICAI New CA Course 2027: Exam Schedule, Syllabus Status, and Upcoming Changes

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has finalized the upcoming academic calendar and exam guidelines, clearing up widespread speculation surrounding the ICAI's new CA course 2027.

While the apex council’s Committee for Review of Education and Training (CRET) is actively designing a highly modernized, tech-forward curriculum framework, the current revised scheme remains in full effect for all 2027 examination cycles to ensure structural stability for student batches.

New CA Course 2027 January Examination Timetable Released

ICAI will conduct all January 2027 examinations during the afternoon session starting at 2:00 PM IST. Students will receive 15 minutes of advance reading time before each paper begins.

• CA Foundation Schedule: Examinations run from January 3 to January 9, 2027. Subjective papers (Accounting, Business Laws) are allotted 3 hours. Objective papers (Quantitative Aptitude, Business Economics) run for 2 hours.

• CA Intermediate Schedule: Papers span January 2 through January 12, 2027. Group 1 exams conclude on January 6, while Group 2 testing takes place between January 8 and January 12.

The examination form window for the January 2027 term will officially open on November 3, 2026, with a standard submission deadline of November 16, 2026.

ICAI New CA Course 2027: What Students Need to Know About the Syllabus

Rumors regarding an immediate curriculum overhaul have been addressed by council updates. While the blueprint for a heavily modernized framework integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics is underway, its official implementation is projected for later years, rather than an immediate rollout under the ICAI's new CA course 2027 banner.

Students appearing in the January 2027, May 2027, and September 2027 terms will continue to study and test under the currently existing revised Scheme of Education and Training.

The only notable curriculum adjustment begins in the May 2027 session. This includes the formal testing of the updated Income-tax Act, 2025 across Intermediate Paper 3A and Final Paper 4 modules.
