IAF Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 & Group Y Medical Assistant Notification

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the recruitment notifications for Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 and Airmen Group Y (Medical Assistant) posts [June 17, 2026]. Online registrations for both highly anticipated defence entries will open on 06 July 2026 and close on 26 July 2026. 

Eligible male and female candidates can submit their applications through the official portal at iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in. The online Phase-I examination is scheduled for 22 and 23 September 2026.

IAF Recruitment 2026 Overview

The twin recruitment drives offer a prestigious career path in the Indian Air Force for young defence aspirants. While the Agniveervayu scheme is open to both unmarried men and women, the specialised Airmen Group 'Y' Medical Assistant post is exclusively for unmarried male candidates.

  • Registration Dates: 06 July 2026 (11:00 AM) to 26 July 2026 (11:00 PM)

  • Exam Dates: 22 September - 23 September 2026

  • Application Fee: INR 550 + 18% GST (Applicable to all categories)

Eligibility and Post-Wise Details

1. Agniveervayu (Intake 02/2027)

  • Gender: Unmarried Indian Male & Female candidates.

  • Age Limit: Born between 01 July 2005 and 01 January 2010 (both dates inclusive).

  • Education (Science): 10+2 intermediate with Mathematics, Physics, and English (minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English) OR a 3-year Engineering Diploma.

  • Education (without science stream): 10+2 intermediate with a minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in the English subject.

2. Airmen Group 'Y' (Medical Assistant)

  • Gender: Unmarried Indian/Gorkha Male candidates only.

  • Age Limit: Maximum 22 years for 10+2 entry; maximum 24 years for Diploma/B.Sc Pharmacy holders.

  • Education: 10+2 intermediate with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB), and English with a minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English. Candidates with a valid state-registered Diploma or B.Sc in Pharmacy are also highly eligible.

Step-by-Step Selection Process

Candidates must clear a rigorous three-tier selection process to secure enrolment:

  1. Phase I: Computer-Based Online Written Examination.

  2. Phase II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Document Verification, and Adaptability Tests.

  3. Phase III: Comprehensive Medical Examination.

How to Apply Online

Eligible candidates can apply by visiting the CASB Portal starting July 6. Applicants must fill out the form, pay the registration fee online, and upload a passport photo showing them holding a black slate with their name and the date of the photo written in white chalk.
