GATE 2027 Registration Date: IIT Madras Announces New Application Schedule

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), the organising institute for GATE 2027, has revised the GATE 2027 registration date. The GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal will now open on August 27, 2026, instead of August 14. 

GATE 2027 Registration: Revised Schedule

• Registration begins: August 27, 2026

• Regular registration deadline: September 27, 2026

• Registration with late fee: October 5, 2026

• Application rectification: October 14 to October 21, 2026

• City allotment notification: January 4, 2027

• GATE 2027 dates: February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027

• GATE 2027 declaration date: March 19, 2027  

GATE 2027 New Changes

IIT Madras has introduced the Robotics and Automation (RA) paper, taking the total number of GATE test papers to 30. Candidates can appear for one or up to two papers from the permitted combinations. 

The institute has also announced syllabus revisions in several papers and changes to some paper codes.
