Delhi University CES Admission: Drops Age Limit for Admissions

In a major step toward promoting lifelong learning, Delhi University (DU) has officially removed the upper age limit for its Competence Enhancement Scheme (CES). The university has opened applications for the upcoming academic cycle, allowing working professionals, senior citizens, and alumni of all age groups to study individual college-level courses alongside regular students.

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), this "Any Course, Any Age" initiative allows non-traditional learners to upgrade their skills or pursue a passion without committing to a full degree.

Delhi University CES admission: Guidelines & Seat Matrix

Under the relaxed guidelines, applicants can register for a maximum of two papers or eight credits per semester.

To ensure regular student admissions are not disrupted, DU has designated these as supernumerary seats. Admission will be capped at 10% of the regular class capacity or 6 seats per course, whichever is lower. The registration window remains open throughout the year, with selections strictly based on merit.

Eligibility Criteria and Restrictions

• Open to: Working professionals, retirees, homemakers, DU alumni, and students currently enrolled in other recognized universities.

• Barred From: Students currently enrolled in a regular degree programme at Delhi University are not eligible to apply.

• Requirements: Candidates must meet the specific educational prerequisites of their chosen subject. Employed individuals and outside students must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective employers or institutions.

Fee Structure and Credits

The fee for the programme is set at INR 6,100 per paper. Students who successfully clear the course evaluations will earn official university credits, which will be digitally logged into their Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) portal for future academic mobility.
