A 10-member committee has been formed by SCERT (Delhi State Council of Educational Research and Training). The committee will review academic podcasts and e-content before SCERT releases them on its Studio YouTube channel.
According to PTI, SCERT took this step to ensure the content is high quality, relevant, and aligned with NEP 2020, SCERT guidelines, and the Directorate of Education.
SCERT is an academic body that works to improve the school education system in the state. It develops better curricula, creates new textbooks, and trains teachers according to national standards like NEP 2020.
In Delhi, SCERT works closely with the Directorate of Education. It introduces new teaching methods and creates digital learning resources. These efforts aim to improve classroom learning and student outcomes in government schools.
According to the PTI news agency, officials passed this order on April 17. This committee will look into podcasts and e-content produced by SCERT and DIET teachers before they are uploaded on the SCERT Studio YouTube channel.
The panel will be headed by the SCERT Secretary and Joint Director. The other members in the committee will include "officials from the Directorate of Education, principals of the DIETs, faculty members of the SCERT and CIET, NCERT," the officials stated.
The committee will evaluate content under three broad headings based on the given guidelines. Each head will carry 10 marks and cover: 'Content is aligned with NEP 2020 & other departmental orders', 'academic content and facts', 'Audio-Visual quality & presentation'.
The committee will provide its recommendations for 'approve, revise or reject' the content. It will also provide suggested changes or additions in each of the cases if necessary.
This initiative is in sync with the need to ensure good governance and quality control of the digital learning content in SCERT. In addition, it will provide a structured mechanism for the review of content at the state level and enhance the trustworthiness of the digital content generated by the teachers. This step will allow access to good curriculum-oriented online learning material to students across Delhi.
