The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance test for the 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) in India to take admission into either undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate (PG) law courses. The examination is organised annually by the Consortium of National Law Universities (Consortium of NLUs).
Exam Date: December 7, 2025 (2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.)
Provisional Answer Key Release: December 10, 2025
Objection Window (Closed): December 10–12, 2025
Result Declaration (Expected): On or before December 17, 2025

Exam Mode: The examination was conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode.
Admissions: CLAT scores are used for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes at 24 participating National Law Universities (NLUs) across India.
Eligibility (UG): Candidates must have passed the Class 12 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates). There is no upper age limit.
Syllabus (UG): The 2-hour test consists of 120 multiple-choice questions (with 0.25 negative marking per wrong answer) across five sections:
English Language
Current Affairs, including General Knowledge
Legal Reasoning
Logical Reasoning
Quantitative Techniques
For the successful candidates next step is a counselling session. This counselling session will be held online.
