The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has determined to align the curricula of BCA and BBA as per NEP 2020, with the main focus on making the courses more industry-relevant, practical, and flexible. Thus, the curricula of BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) and BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) are going to see major changes.
The AICTE has initiated significant changes for the BBA and BCA programs to unify the quality, correspond with NEP 2020, and make students more employable. The reforms offer flexibility in the form of different exit pathways, a research-focused fourth year, interdisciplinary knowledge, and increased practical experience through internships and project-based assessments.
Regulatory supervision by AICTE: The introduction of the uniform curricular and quality standards across the whole country is the main reason why AICTE took BBA and BCA under its control.
NEP 2020 Compliance: Giving the curriculum the flexibility of NEP is making it more compatible and providing a wider range of academic options.
Multiple Entry & Exit: Students will be able to obtain a certificate (1 year), a diploma (2 years), or a degree (3 years) at their choice.
Four-Year Honours/Research Degree: A research-oriented fourth year can be chosen by the students for advanced studies.
Interdisciplinary Learning: The new system allows students to be taught from various fields, like technology, management, and others.
Practical Learning & Internships: The mix of compulsory internships and project-based training vastly improves the graduates’ employability.
