The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up by the Indian government's Ministry of Commerce & Industry in 1963. It is a leading management institute. It was granted Deemed University status in 2002. The Kolkata campus opened in 2006 and is located in a green space in Madurdaha. It is close to Ruby General Hospital.
The campus covers 7 acres and has air-conditioned classrooms, conference and meeting rooms, and a 400-seat auditorium. There's also a computer centre, library, and indoor games for students.
IIFT Kolkata has hostel rooms available. The New Hostel (NH) offers 70 rooms for two people and is linked to the academic area by a bridge.

IIFT Kolkata has specific requirements for getting into its programs.
You must have a bachelor's degree from a recognised school with at least a 50% grade point average. If you're in your final year of school, you can still apply, but you must finish your degree before beginning the program.
You should have a bachelor's degree and at least two years of work experience in fields related to business.
They will select you based on how well you performed in school, your work history, and an interview.
The requirements for admission vary depending on the program. Usually, you’ll need to have graduated in any subject or have some work experience that's related.
IIFT Kolkata MBA fees cover tuition, the library, dorms, and other school resources.
For the MBA in International Business (MBA-IB), total fees are about ?22 lakh for the whole two-year program. This includes tuition, learning materials, and other school costs. Students in the Executive Post Graduate Diploma in International Business (EPGDIB) pay roughly ?6 lakh for the whole program.
Short certificate programs and online courses have their own fees, from ?25,000 to ?1,50,000, based on how long they last and what they include.
You can pay the fees in instalments, and some students may be able to get financial help or scholarships.
IIFT Kolkata is now accepting applications for its MBA in International Business (MBA-IB), Executive PG Diploma in International Business (EPGDIB), and certificate programs. Applying is straightforward. Here’s what you need to do:
Go to the IIFT website and fill out the online application. Remember to upload all the necessary documents.
Pay the application fee online. The amount depends on the program.
If you’re applying for the MBA-IB, you’ll need to take the IIFT entrance exam. For the EPGDIB, they might look at your grades and job history instead.
They’ll pick candidates based on exam scores, grades, and work experience.
If you’re shortlisted, you’ll attend a group discussion and a personal interview for the final selection.
If you’re selected, you’ll get an offer letter. Pay the fees and complete the other steps to confirm your spot.

IIFT Kolkata will use CAT 2024 scores for 2025 admissions. They will no longer hold their own entrance exam. And registration was open between October 17 and November 22, 2024. The CAT 2024 exam was conducted on November 24, 2024.
After the test, they'll choose candidates for the next steps. It is a group discussion, a writing skills test, and a personal interview. These are planned for February and March 2025. The final admission list will come out after all of this.
The IIFT Kolkata MBA in International Business program is scheduled to begin in June or July 2025.
The IIFT Kolkata Result 2025 is coming out in two parts. The first list of selected candidates came out on March 31, 2025. If your name appeared on it, you've advanced to the next stage of the admissions process. The final results will be out on May 10, 2025.
Your final score depends on your CAT 2024 score, how you do in the Group Discussion, your Writing Skills Assessment, and the Personal Interview. If you pass all these, you’ll get an offer letter.
