The primary entrance exams for the Full-Time PGDM (MBA equivalent) program at Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) are the CAT (Common Admission Test) and the XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test). For other specialized programs, like the Full-Time PGDM (Gulf/FN/OCI), you need to appear for LIBA Admissions Test (LAT).
LIBA offers several programs, each with its own entrance exam requirements:
PGDM Full-Time (2026–2028): Accepts scores from CAT 2025 or XAT 2026.
PGDM Full-Time (Gulf/FN/OCI): Accepts CAT 2025, XAT 2026, or the LAT (LIBA Admissions Test).
Executive Diploma Programs: Admission is based on a personal interview; no entrance exam required.
PGP in Logistics, Sustainability, and Circular Economy: Admission is merit-based; no entrance exam required.
FPM (Fellow Programme in Management): Accepts LAT or XRAT (LIBA Research Aptitude Test).
1. Pick Your Program
Use the LIBA Admissions Portal to browse through the programs and decide on the program that suits your career objectives.
2. Eligibility
Candidates must confirm that they meet the eligibility requirements for their preferred program before submitting an application. For example, the PGDM Full-Time program requires candidates to have secured at least 60% marks in their 10th, 12th as well as undergraduate degree, all of which have to be from regular modes of education. Moreover, applicants are required to have a valid CAT 2025 / XAT 2026 score for admission consideration.
3. Registration for the Entrance Exam
Candidates are required to register for the appropriate entrance examinations in order to attempt for admission to the respective program. Candidates can register for the CAT 2025 examination online at iimcat.ac.in. XAT 2026 can be registered at xatonline.in. Candidates applying for LAT must register on the LIBA Admissions Portal for selection purposes.
4. Preparation for the Exams
Once registration is complete it is important that candidates develop an understanding of the test structure and format for the examination of their choice. Many candidates partner with coaching classes or study programs to improve their understanding of the topics and time management while taking the competitive exams.
5. Engage in the Selection Procedure
Candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria in the examination will receive a request to take part in the selection procedure of the university. The selection procedure consists of a Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The rounds are hosted at a variety of sites, including LIBA Chennai, and assess candidates' communication skills, critical reasoning abilities, and suitability for the program.
Getting into LIBA is competitive but achievable, especially if you have the proper preparation. Aspects that impact admission included:
Performance on Entrance Exam: Performance has to be CAT 2025 of 80 percentile or higher or XAT 2026 of 75 percentile or higher.
Your Academic Performance: Consistent outstanding performance in 10th, 12th and undergraduate degree.
Your performance on WAT/GD/PI: It is important to demonstrate that you easily communicate your ideas, think critically and that you show strong leadership potential.
