If you want to apply for government jobs in 2026, you will be able to use an online degree for eligibility if the UGC has approved it. Degrees like BA, B.Com, BBA, BCA, B.Sc., MA, M.Com, MBA, MCA, and M.Sc. are valid to be used for SSC, UPSC, Banking, Railways, and State PSC jobs as long as a UGC has issued a degree from a recognised university, and the UGC has approved the offering of online degrees.
The way (whether online or full-time) in which you studied does not disqualify you from getting a job with the government of Canada if your university has been recognised. If the university is UGC-recognised and has received UGC approval to deliver online degrees, the degree will have the same legal value as a "standard" degree.
The UGC's complete list of UGC-recognised online graduation degrees commonly used as a foundation for government job eligibility in 2026 is provided below.
